KITTY is a boutique and lifestyle brand created by Sarah Davidson, a Nashville based singer, songwriter, and style lover. The concept and brand came to her during a conversation with a music manager when he told her to be "concise with your branding" and that any sort of creative outlets in styling or fashion needed to be carefully promoted as music was the main focus. "I just remember responding 'Hey, this is bullshit. If we're gonna get along, you need to realize I'm a creative being and I'm going to do whatever my heart is telling me to.' It's in that moment that it all 'clicked' and Sarah was reminded of the story of Kitty Wells (one she has always been drawn to), the forefront trailblazer for women in country music. "I remember thinking 'hey, Kitty did it all. She was married, had kids, toured into her 80's, owned a record label, and was a brilliant business woman. Why can't I promote the idea that we, as women, can be whatever we choose to be, regardless of society’s standards on what we should or should not be. We can be both mothers and business women, lovers of things we hold dear and fighters for ideas we believe in, independent artists and CEOs. "When I thought about what lines I wanted to carry, I knew I wanted to provide a wide price point, because fashion doesn't alway mean expensive. I try and choose pieces that I feel are authentic to what women on the streets of Nashville are wearing and what my friends would wear." Sarah not only wants to impact Nashville with a "Nashville street style" fashion forward boutique, but thru kittynashville.com she want to take the lifestyle brand to the rest of the badass Renaissance women across the nation. "So many people have this misconception that everyone is walking around Broadway in cowboy denim or a sundress with cowboy boots and hats. I want to be a part of changing these misconceptions thru telling the stories of the badass women in Nashville today with "KITTY OF THE MONTH". We will show and tell what the women in Nashville are actually wearing, because so much of Nashville style comes from a rooted place of authenticity and there's always a story behind each woman's style. KITTY of the Month is a chance to reflect on the renaissance women that have blazed the trails before us and changed art, society, or business for the better. Its purpose is also to honor the renaissance women of today that are leading lives that are authentically inspired by their talents and passions in their hearts, to share their stories and how fashion plays a roll in their everyday lives.
